Just as with many of you, we never imagined the world would be so different in just a matter of a month, not as we were being interviewed by Erie News Now anyway. While it's been a chaotic time for everyone, it's also presented new opportunities and different ways of seeing things. This is what our team has witnessed from clients while working with them from our 6 remote satellite offices near Meadville, PA and Asheville, NC. In true American fashion, businesses of all kinds--manufacturing, tourist destinations, business services, main street stores--are adapting as needed to overcome challenges while also keeping their people safe.
In step with our mission statement, Bull Moose has jumped in where we can, sharing resources, advising industry organizations, and buying gift certificates from local businesses for our employees. For small businesses, each weekday at noon we're using Facebook Live to broadcasting simple marketing tips they can use during COVID-19. And for manufacturers, we are offering at no charge, installation of a free tool that shows the specific companies visiting their website, allowing them to then to reach out and explore potential sales opportunities. (Contact us for details.)
And if nothing more, maybe Ron and Josh's antics will bring a smile to your face...
In this month's newsletter, we've focused on strategies and tactics meant to help everyone get through this mess. Our lead story provides manufacturers with helpful tactics to use marketing to keep their messaging to employees and customers clear and up to date while also, finding new business opportunities despite the disruption in the supply chain. We've unveiled our video blog this month with helpful ideas for the rural tourism industry to leverage their best assets despite the effects of the coronavirus. We're also excited to share news of the newest addition to the Bull Moose team and the new in-house services we can now offer to clients.
We hope you find the information useful, but more importantly we hope you, your people, and your families remain safe and healthy as we work to get through our new normal together. --Bully!
The Fog of War: 11 Ways Manufacturers can Leverage Marketing During the COVID-19 Crisis
The “fog of war,” first coined by Prussian General Carl von Clausewitz, is a term often used to describe the dominating uncertainty that hallmarks the chaos of battle. The answer to this challenge, according to Clausewitz, is the “sensitive and discriminating judgment” of leaders who can cut through the fog.
Our feature article this month lays out 11 strategies and tactics those manufacturers with discriminating judgement can use to break through the fog COVID-19 has created and come out ahead on the other side.
Bull Moose's first episode of The Progressive Marketer vlog is dedicated to rural tourism and ways to find success during a time when coronavirus is taking a toll on the industry as a whole. Keep in mind, a lot has changed in just even a few days, and some ideas might be subject to updated regulations and restrictions.
Bull Moose Marketing is excited to announce the recent addition of Branden Montgomery to our team, taking on the role of Video and Multimedia Manager. Branden is an Erie native with a passion for storytelling through videography. After high school, he attended Edinboro University for a bachelor’s degree in digital media production. During his time there, he was the General Manager of Edinboro Television (ET-V) and a student videographer with the Edinboro Beehive. He also worked with many regional businesses and organizations as a videographer at WQLN, the Erie SeaWolves, and Chautauqua Institution during his off time at Edinboro. Since that time, Branden has dedicated himself in producing and directing live broadcasts, film, television, and commercial content creation for all mediums. He also works with sports organizations as a part-time camera operator for both the NBA G-league and the Erie SeaWolves while managing his own live streams on the side.
Bull Moose is excited to be able offer video production services in-house for current and future clients. For more information on incorporating video production into your marketing and advertising, email us at jsherretts@bullmoosemarketing.com.

Now more than every, it is extremely important for businesses to claim and to maintain their Google My Business directory listing. With people staying home and travel restricted, they are relying heavily on the web to find solutions, products, and services particularly within their local area. When your business shows up in the search results, they need to know if you're still operating, what services you're still offering, and what are your current hours. Don't frustrate customers even more at a time when frustration and confusion is already high. Not sure how to use Google My Business?
